Journey Via the Virtual World

The power of story

Story has the power to bring soul back to the world: old stories about the earth and its landscape, new stories that give us fresh ideas about connecting to the earth and each other.

Stories can inflame the imagination. Stories about our families and ancestors, stories about the trees and animals and rocks around us; stories about the stars and planets and gods can help us find and remember our place and anchor us in time and space. In re-storying the world, we can restore it.

In May’s journey, go to the lower or upper world with your power animal or spirit helper/teacher with an inflamed imagination ready to experience a new story with a fresh idea that will  replace an old story about the earth and how we are connected.

For example: What is your connection to the earth? Imagine your connection runs deep, seasons flowing through your body, feeling them stirring  before you see the signs. What does that story look like, where are you in this story? How does the new story you have written make you feel?

Another example: What is your connection to your ancestors/family? Create a hero story about your ancestors. Create a hero story about your family. Imagine knowing them as heroes.

I know we are joyfully awaiting the day when we can physically be together in our drum circle. Please post details of your journey on the blog page of our website so we can learn from each other and tend our community.

Thank you!

This was soooo wonderful! My journey started out with visions of artichokes, dug out logs and trees in forest. As I traveled along people whispered to me, saying not to tell people of some things. Isaw Mother Earth opening up in the underground, many forms and shapes opening up at this time, a wondrous feeling. Mysterious and welcoming!

Thank you, Cynthia, for this heartfelt experience! I'm very grateful for your service to us. I read your kitchen article and connected to your experiences very much.
In covid19 times, I cannot visit my beloved places-library, horse therapy barn, Native American museum, garden club, book club, all the festivals and Conservatory I love. So Universe gave me more introspection of what I love deeply in my personal life, and I am enhancing those activities by being with Pachamama in my backyard, the parks, relating more deeply to my kitties.
Universe also gives me more ways to give: a family in need, maskmakers-I deliver fabrics and elastics, twisty ties to local mask makers on nextdoor.com. This gives me a sense of purpose to the cause. My parents told us stories of collecting things in the Depression and WWII to hand in to make supplies and airplanes. Creator gives me things to do to help people: a young person needs monies to make rent, get a mask, get groceries. I am there for them, I love to give. I give to myself by going to parks, cooking, gardening and making new games for my cats. I am blessed and carry blessings around my world. Blessings to you and yours in these sacred times.

Wonderful Journey!
I entered the Journey with: new story, fresh idea, earth, ancestors, connection. Immediately joined by 2 power animals and spirit guide as I exited my house to my tree for transition. Saw my maternal Grandmother, connected to her toils through the depression era. Saw myself in her, connected to daily responsibilities. Traveled to the upper world. We met my met with my maternal Grandfather. Traveled with him to and from work on his bicycle through the Allegheny National Forest, viewing the journey through his eyes...sunlight through the trees, animals passing, and more...all bringing a smile and warm heart to him and to me as I seem to have merged with him. Met my Dad, fishing in the forest stream...feeling peace. Then with Dad selling things at flea market, connecting with people, bringing joy to him. Recall of some of my online therapy this week and joy I felt. Dad and Grandfather merged, turned to a bonfire, smoke rising upward to the light, so bright in the sky. I wandered in some darkness feeling alone and lost. Came to my yard, It spoke to me. It called out 'Heal me!'. Looked about yard not knowing how to heal it, all the while, the yard...grass, roots beneath, creatures beneath, calling out 'Heal me!'. The moss on my patio began to cover me. With moss went to another patio with moss between patio block. Moss speaks to me of this. I feel safe, listen to the moss, feel the moss, smell the moss...Journey ends. I am grateful and love all participating in my Journey and say this aloud.

I love the Allegheny National Forest! Attended the Audubon Weekends there twice.
Thanks for your story.

Wild Journey! Wow. A Flood of beautiful energy from the universe. So grateful.
I started my journey down a soft, moist, but well-lite tunnel of dirt to the lower world and asked my healing spirit to join me but my power animal appeared instead. Several symbols (Vs) appeared glowing in a soft yellowish form and faded as I descended. We entered an open area but almost instantaneously several bar shaped beams of soft light appeared from above us. Figures or silouettes of beautiful light-beings, some with tall (coned) shaped hats. An over whelming feeling of peace and love flowed from above down to me. So grateful. An ancient helmet and a warriors shield appeared beneath me, I could see the intricate designs carved in the metal and brilliant shades of red painted in the shield. While we rode this wave of peace from above, I could still feel the warmth of earth at my roots. Gentle strength, everlasting love.

I journeyed with toad. We were in my grandfather's woods. We started moving along the ground and then we hopped up a tree past his deer stand higher up into the sky! We were spinning in a spiral pattern very high up we paused and looked at the earth with love and then we descended in a different location in the spiral pattern. We landed some where around a fire where a Shaman was drumming all the people's feet were dancing. We could see the healing vibrations of the Shaman's drum and how even the tree's were being made even more well by the colorful vibrations and the fire was dancing. We sat close together and soaked it all in. ~Thanks

I find it inspiring how stories have the power to connect us with ourselves, others, and nature.
