Story has the power to bring soul back to the world: old stories about the earth and its landscape, new stories that give us fresh ideas about connecting to the earth and each other.
Stories can inflame the imagination. Stories about our families and ancestors, stories about the trees and animals and rocks around us; stories about the stars and planets and gods can help us find and remember our place and anchor us in time and space. In re-storying the world, we can restore it. In May’s journey, go to the lower or upper world with your power animal or spirit helper/teacher with an inflamed imagination ready to experience a new story with a fresh idea that will replace an old story about the earth and how we are connected. For example: What is your connection to the earth? Imagine your connection runs deep, seasons flowing through your body, feeling them stirring before you see the signs. What does that story look like, where are you in this story? How does the new story you have written make you feel? Another example: What is your connection to your ancestors/family? Create a hero story about your ancestors. Create a hero story about your family. Imagine knowing them as heroes. I know we are joyfully awaiting the day when we can physically be together in our drum circle. Please post details of your journey on the blog page of our website so we can learn from each other and tend our community. Thank you!
